Morro das Pedras Clube and Hotel

Hello.  We got back from Brazil last Wednesday and I can't say that I am very happy to be back in the land of snow and ice.  Brazil was so amazing.  The people are the most amazing, but it was also so warm and green.  We would wake up in the morning and go down to the beach before breakfast most days.  It was so beautiful.

Okay, this post is about where we will be staying during the trip.  The idea in the beginning had been to find an Airbnb for all of us.  We were hoping that we would have 10 students sign up.  Instead, 19 students signed up and we are also allowing 2 student spouses to come.  That's 21 students plus faculty members.  I have looked for an Airbnb that will accommodate that many people but am unable to find one and we don't want to split up into different groups and stay in different locations.

So we decided on a hotel instead.  And I found a great one.  It is called the Morro das Pedras Clube and Hotel.  You can find it online at https://morrodaspedras.com/   It is right on the beach.  You leave your room, go past the pools and hot tubs, down some stairs, and you find yourself on one of the most beautiful beaches in Floripa.   It's a really good surfing beach if you are interested in that.  Tons of shells.  I used to stand at the waters edge and wait for the waves to see what they would bring me.

It's a great location, there are two supermarkets within walking distance.  There is also a beautiful freshwater lake that is a 10 minute walk away from the hotel.

It's a great place, I visited it and looked at the rooms and talked to the manager there.  He was nice.  And it turned out that I knew his sister, which was a huge weird coincidence.  We will be sleeping two to a room and will be taking requests for roommates at our first meeting, which will be soon.

The hotel will be serving breakfast to us every day.  The breakfasts in Brazil are incredible.  They have a huge buffet with lots of choices.  The hotel can also serve lunch and dinner but that is something we are trying to decide if we have the budget for.

Check it out online and let me know if you have any questions.
